Dating someone 16 years younger

I'm 23 and I won't date somebody who is 18. But you get my point that there is a cutoff at some point.

Some background on my situation: I'm 20, but more "mature" for my age -- I'm a recent college grad with my Bachelor's, working 9 to 5, living on my own and making a comfortable living. At this stage in my life I'd be wary of dating anyone who wasn't at least in their late 20's.

We've gone on a couple dates and get along great, but I feel a little inhibited by my age since he's quite older than me. Edit: Also sharing any stories and experiences would be interesting to me :)The older you get, the less it matters. Also, I feel as if there's a certain stigma associated with me, a professional school student, dating a high schooler. Edit: apologies, read to quick and skimmed over you being the lady.

People in our lives also expressed the fear that if we were to stay together, we may never have a “normal” life.

And, although we've been together for more than a year and a half, live together, and are planning a future with one another, individuals still find it difficult to understand why we have chosen each other.

Also note that this was not because I had some notion that we would end up together long-term, but rather because I was embarrassed to be seen in public with him because of our age difference. At the time, I thought that people would judge us and stare, or even worse, someone might mistake him for my son.
